Google's decision to release Feature Drop for Pixel phone is an excellent way of making sure that the phones are constantly getting new updates going forward. This keeps the overall user experience fresh and always gives us an experience of what the company is capable of in terms of innovation and what features are useful for us. Even though the March 2023 Pixel feature drop is not officially rolling out to Pixel users, we have some information as to what is coming with the upcoming update.
Folks over at 9to5Google and Michael Brown managed to get their hands on a changelog pertinent to the March feature drop that will be coming to Pixel phones shortly. The new feature drop mainly seems to be targeting older phones. Starting with the Pixel 6 series, both phones are getting Night Sight, an improved night mode version that gets help from some really good algorithms for stunning night photography.
We then move to the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5a, as both phones are now getting access to Direct My Call. This handy feature brings up a visual menu of the directory system, ensuring that you don't need to listen carefully and press the buttons you have to press.
Last but not least, Health Connect, an app that you previously had to download, will now come preloaded on all Pixel phones and Pixel Watch is also getting some love with Fall Detection, seeing a wider rollout as it reaches more users.
As with all previous Pixel feature drops, we only know about the significant changes that are coming to the latest update. This means that there are more than likely several other minor changes that will be making their way to the phones.
