The season finale for HBO's The Last of Us is only a few hours away. Those who've played the game will be excited to see how the live action version depicts the dramatic ending; and those who haven't have no idea what they're in for. Given the outstanding job that the writers, actors, and showrunners have done with the show, it's set up to be one hell of a finale.
However, while being extremely faithful to the source material, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann haven't been afraid to include original content. While this original content differs from the events in the game, it includes some of the best parts of the show – Bill and Frank's story for instance. This has got fans wondering if HBO will use the "alternate" ending for The Last of Us.

In the first game's ending, upon finally delivering Ellie to the Fireflies, Joel learns that the process of harvesting the cure will likely kill Ellie. This results in him rampaging through the hospital, killing Fireflies and the doctors in order to save her.
However, while shooting this scene for the motion capture of the original game, Neil Druckmann played a hilarious prank on the rest of the cast and crew, with the help of Merle Dandridge, who plays Marleen in the game and the show. After a few good takes to get the shots that he needed, Druckmann took Dandridge aside and gave her some special instructions. He then took Troy Baker aside and told him that he had given Dandridge special instructions, but didn't say what. He just told Baker to roll with it and keep filming no matter what.
