The trailer for Charmed season 4 reveals that a new third witch will be entering the fold. The series, which premiered on The CW in 2019, is a reboot of the original WB series of the same name, which ran from 1998 to 2006. Charmed follows sisters Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery), who discover that they are imbued with magical powers following the death of their mother. This discovery comes along with the revelation that they have an older half-sister Macy (Madeleine Mantock), helping them to ignite the Power of Three, in which they combine their individual power into an incredible force.
Mantock left Charmed after season 3, which aired its finale on July 23, 2021, resulting in the tragic death of her character. Without Macy, the Power of Three is torn apart, so the show creators had to scramble to cast a new third sister. This mirrors a similar casting issue in the original series when one of the original sisters, played by Shannen Doherty, left after season 3 and was replaced by a new younger sister played by Rose McGowan, who remained on the series until it ended.

The CW just dropped a trailer for Charmed season 4 (via TV Promos). The trailer displays the first look at Lucy Barrett as the new Charmed One, an artist who has arrived from Philadelphia to revive the Power of Three, though whether or not the sisters will accept her right away remains to be seen. However, they are going to have to find a way to navigate their new sisterly relationship sooner than later, because a burgeoning threat has an eye toward their imminent destruction, along with the ruination of the entire magical world.
