The Boys season 3’s riff of Zack Snyder’s Justice League can engagingly satirize Snyder’s DCEU Knightmare plans. First teased in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the apocalyptic Knightmare timeline shows Earth being conquered by Darkseid (Ray Porter) as Batman (Ben Affleck) forms a plan to undo this future. May 20, 2022 saw the marketing for The Boys season 3 present numerous social media teases of the “Bourke Cut” of the in-universe superhero movie, Dawn of the Seven. This included a mock trailer showing the Seven's volatile Superman equivalent Homelander (Anthony Starr) and his teammates confronting their former ally-turned-enemy Stormfront (Aya Cash). While operating under different circumstances, Snyder’s Knightmare itself had a similar desert environment and a battle among heroes; specifically, with Superman (Henry Cavill) turned into a minion for Darkseid with the Anti-Life Equation.

Obviously, the Bourke Cut spoof marketing of the Snyder Cut was all in good fun, but with the extent to which social media and especially Warner Bros. can't escape the Snyder Cut, it raises questions about the elements of Snyder's DCEU films that The Boys might utilize. Based on the Bourke Cut trailer for Dawn of the Seven, the Knightmare could be a major one.
