Two credible leakers, Ubatcha1 and hxg_diluc, have been hinting that his name is actually Al-Haitham, and many fans suggest that his name is based on the popular Arab scientist, Hasan Ibn al-Haytham. This could be true considering that each major region in Genshin Impact is inspired by a real-life location, and according to numerous rumors, the new nation Sumeru is based on Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
This would not be the first time for Genshin Impact to base the design of their new characters on Honkai's world. For example, one of the recently released characters, the Electro user Yae Miko has a lot of similarities with Honkai's Yae Sakura. Even two of the popular Genshin Impact Archons, Venti and Raiden Shogun, have their respective counterparts in the other game.
