New images highlight Robert Pattinson’s suit and weapons in his upcoming role as the Caped Crusader in The Batman. After Christian Bale and Ben Affleck took on the role of Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knighttrilogy and the recent DCEU film series, respectively, Robert Pattinson is stepping into the shoes of Bruce Wayne to become the newest iteration of Gotham’s Dark Knight. The film, which has been revealed to have a three-hour runtime, will be hitting the big screen in March.
With the introduction of a new Batman film with new actors and storylines, the team behind The Batmanhave had the chance to create their own take on the character’s iconic aesthetics and visuals. Bale’s Batman wore a skin-tight suit of armor, optimized for mobility and fluidity. Conversely, Affleck’s version of the character donned a bulkier Batsuit, with thick chest and shoulder plates. Affleck’s Batman also wielded a large variety of weapons, including guns, grenades, and batarangs. The weapons of Bale’s Batman were more stripped-down, being mostly restricted to batarangs and grappling hooks.

Now, in new images shared by Total Film, fans can get a more detailed look at Pattinson’s Batsuit and his armory. The images show the superhero’s cowl in detail, as well as his gauntlets and belt brimming with gadgets. Those gadgets appear to include smoke grenades, which eagle-eyed fans will have caught glimpses of in trailers, and potential projectiles attached to his gauntlets.
