According to new data, The Adam Projectis currently Netflix’s fourth most-viewed English-language movie of all time, after being released to the streaming platform only a month ago. The Adam Projecttakes place in a futuristic science-fiction universe in which a pilot named Adam (Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds) travels back in time to meet his younger self (Walker Scobell). In addition to Reynolds and Scobell, the film also stars Mark Ruffalo as Adam's father, Jennifer Garner as Adam's mother, Zoe Saldaña as Adam's wife Laura, and Catherine Keener as Adam's boss.
The script for The Adam Project was originally written in 2012 and had Tom Cruise attached to play the lead role. In 2020, however, the film moved over to Netflix with Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Night at the Museum, Cheaper By the Dozen) as the director and producer. Reynolds and Levy also worked together on Free Guy, and will soon work together again, as Levy will be directing Deadpool 3.

Now, Deadlinereports that based on an announcement from Netflix, The Adam Projecthas been viewed over 233 million times, making it the fourth most-popular English-language movie in the platform’s history. The only movies that are currently ahead of The Adam Projectare Red Notice(#1) (in which Reynolds also stars), Don’t Look Up (#2), and Bird Box (#3). Reynolds also stars in Netflix’s ninth most-popular title, 6 Underground, making him the first actor ever to have three films on Netflix’s Top 10 list.
Despite his recent success with Netflix, Reynolds’ next feature will be with Apple TV+. He will be starring alongside Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer in a musical inspired by A Christmas Carol,titled Spirited.
