When Darth Vader tells Luke Skywalker that he is his father, Vader makes it his mission to turn Luke to the Dark Side and rule the Star Wars universe as father and son–a moment that was flipped by Thanos in one of the craziest Marvel Comics storylines to date.
Darth Vader makes his villainous proposal to Luke in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back after Vader tells Luke that he is his father. In an attempt to use emotional leverage, Darth Vader tries to recruit Luke and use his son’s power alongside his own to overthrow the Emperor and take Palpatine’s place together. While that seems like a good plan since Darth Sidious is perhaps the most evil force of nature in the cosmos, it relies on Darth Vader corrupting his own son to the Dark Side and cursing him to suffer the same fate he has endured for the last two decades–making this mission the darkest one Darth Vader has ever undertaken.

However, when he meets Thanos from the future and sees the result of his parenting, Cosmic Ghost Rider is met with a version of Thanos who is arguably worse than he was originally. The future Thanos has taken on the mantle of the Punisher, and as the Punisher he used brute force to eliminate anyone who were, in his eyes, criminals.
