Following its recent live action trailer, which saw the world huddling up, Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 receives another new trailer showcasing next-gen immersion on the PS5. While 4K/60 FPS and super fast loading times are possible on Xbox Series X/S and PCs with SSDs, Sony’s console benefits from 3D Audio support.
As noted last August, the developer utilized Ambisonics and object-based audio with various other gimmicks to create a “more realistic and lifelike sound experience.” There’s even 7.1.4ch audio support in the cutscenes for Story Mode, adding even more to the cinematic presentation. The PS5’s DualSense is also supported, with Haptic Feedback felt in every aspect of the game.
Tekken 8 launches on January 26th for Xbox Series X/S, PC and PS5, with a free demo offering a look at Story Mode and Arcade Quest. It has 32 fighters at launch, with the Year 1 Pass adding four more, starting with Eddy Gordo in Spring. For more details on the story of the franchise so far, head here.
