The first trailer for Apple TV+’s Tehran season 2 has given a first look at Academy Award nominee Glenn Close in action. The drama-thriller series, which premiered in 2020 on the streaming service, follows Niv Sultan as Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan. Following a failed mission to disable an Iranian nuclear base, Tamar goes rogue in Tehran, engaging in an espionage adventure. The second season of the hit show will see Close, an 8-time Oscar nominee, join the cast as a powerful new figure.
In the first teaser for the upcoming second season, released by Apple TV, Close’s new character narrates an intense and action-packed series of events. Returning characters, including Shaun Toub’s Faraz Kamali are seen, while Tamar’s new undercover work and covert missions are contrasted with high-speed car chases and gunfights. The new season looks to up the ante in the action, with brief glimpses of shootouts, chases and rooftop parkour. Check out the short but sweet teaser below:

Close adds further star power to the promising show and recently revealed that the role was written especially for the Hillbilly Elegy star herself. Tehran season 1 was a warm addition to Apple’s streaming library, debuting to positive reviews and gathering interest for a multiple-season run. Tehran season 2 premieres globally on Friday, May 6. The first season is available to stream in its entirety exclusively on Apple TV+.
