Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is Team Ninja's next action RPG following the success of the popular Souls-like series, Nioh. The new game dives deep into Chinese history and mythology while retaining the key gameplay components established in Nioh. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty producer Masaaki Yamagiwa shared more insight into gameplay and the time it takes to finish the game.
Yamagiwa revealed that Wo Long carries the same quest-based structure and linear levels that the Nioh series is known for. Each stage contains a multitude of routes, so players may have a slightly different experience from one another within a stage. Additionally, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty introduces jumping into the Nioh formula to enhance exploration within the stages. As a result, players can expect larger and more vertical stages compared to the prior Nioh titles.

Wo Long will take roughly 40 hours to complete according to Yamagiwa. Playtime may vary for each player due to a variety of side content and challenges found in the game. After the credits roll, players can continue their journey with post-game content. The Nioh games and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty share the same time on average to finish the main story.
Yamagiwa did not announce a release date for Wo Long. However, the game will be playable at Koei Tecmo's booth during Tokyo Game Show 2022, which begins on September 15. Tokyo Game Show attendees will be able to experience the first playable demo of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty for the public. Koei Tecmo plans to share a large gameplay reveal during Tokyo Game Show 2022 as well.
