Taika Waititi jokingly states that his Star Warsmovie will focus on Jar Jar Binks. Waititi is one of the busiest directors in Hollywood right now. Before Thor: Ragnarok’s release in 2017, Waititi was a critically acclaimed but relatively unknown force in the film world. He was much more popular in his home country of New Zealand than he was in the rest of the world. Now, he is a household name among film fans. He currently stars as a voice actor in Lightyear, which is currently in theaters, and directed the latest MCU film, Thor: Love & Thunderwhich hits theaters on July 8.
Waititi will make the next massive step in his career as he directs his own Star Wars movie. As of yet, very little is known about Waititi’s Star Warsfilm. No casting information nor a release date has been revealed. The director has said, however, that the Waititi Star Wars film will include new stories and expand the universe beyond just the Skywalker saga.
