In the wake of the smash hit Super Mario Brothers movie, three Mario games are in this week's UK physical Top Ten.
Mario Kart 8: Deluxe is at No.2 this week, rising two place after a 9% increase in sales week-on-week. It is the third consecutive week of sales rises for the game.
Super Mario Odyssey is at No.5. The platform game comes bundled with a special Nintendo Switch console, and has been rising up the charts ever since. This week it jumped five places after a 15% sales improvement.
Finally, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe is up seven places to No.10 after a 23% sales increase week-on-week.
Outside of the Top Ten, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is at No.13 after a 21% sales rise, Mario Party Superstars is at No.20 with a small 3% uptick, while Mario Strikers: Battle League Football spiked 111% and re-enters the charts at No.30. Finally, somewhat connected to the movie, Luigi's Mansion 3 is back at No.40 with a 7% sales rise.
Elsewhere, Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids games are also in the Top 40 (Sparks of Hope at No.27 and Kingdom Battle at No.32). However, both of these games dropped in sales slightly (down 18% and 6% respectively).
Otherwise, it's a quiet week for video games. FIFA 23 is still No.1 despite a 39% drop in sales week-on-week. The Resident Evil 4 remake is down to No.3 after a 34% sales slip, while Hogwarts Legacy is now at No.4 with a 32% fall.
There is one new game in the charts. Cult of the Lamb by Devolver debuts at No.28 in the physical charts.
