Netflix has just released the first eight minutes of the upcoming Stranger Things season 4. The series, which is one of Netflix's flagship properties, is a supernatural fantasy-horror story that follows the goings-on in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, which is beset by monsters that emerge from a parallel dimension known as the Upside Down. The new season, which comes three years after season 3, partially due to pandemic-related production issues, has been split into two parts. Part 1 is coming in just one week on May 27, 2022, followed a month and a half later by Part 2 on July 1, 2022.
Stranger Things season 4 will find the core cast split up across multiple locations. This includes a gulag in Russia, where Hopper must be rescued from a villainous group that has their own Demogorgon. Jonathan and Will Byers will also be dealing with the separation from their friends as they start school across the country in California. Meanwhile, back in Hawkins, a terrifying new monster will surface, potentially stemming from a portal to the Upside Down located in the attic of the supposedly haunted Creel House.

Today on the official Stranger Things Twitter account, they shared the first eight minutes of the premiere episode of season 4. The post contains a reference to Matthew Modine's Dr. Brenner (who will be reappearing this season after not appearing in season 3) saying "What have you done?" This seems to be a reference to some sort of violent act that a young Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) has committed, revealing the opening moments of the season to be a flashback to her time at Hawkins Lab.
