Legendary gems are a big part of the endgame content in Diablo Immortal, so being able to buy and sell them at the Market is helpful for strengthening a character's build. Additionally, players can purchase or sell regular gems, which are used in secondary armor pieces and can be combined for upgraded versions. Both regular and legendary gems can be acquired multiple ways, but only certain ones are eligible to be listed and sold in the Market.
Every legendary gem has a star rating of either one, two, or five stars, but they also have ranks. The star rating can't be changed, but the rank for every legendary gem can be increased.
