The Jujutsu Kaisen anime has taken the world by storm. After its first season, it beat out Demon Slayer in manga sales in 2021 while also having a move announced shortly after.
The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is the 11th highest grossing anime film of all time and is already considered by many to be part of Shonen Jump’s new big 3, picking up the torch left behind by previous heavyweights. MAPPA did a terrific job animating and choreographing the fights of the first season, so what else is there to look forward to in season 2?
Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Gojo Satoru May Not Be The Strongest Character In The Series
The first season of Jujutsu Kaisenwas able to adapt the first 64 chapters of the manga in 24 episodes. That is nearly three chapters an episode on average. Usually packing so much content in a short span ends up with missing context and information for the series. However, Jujutsu Kaisen does not suffer from this style of storytelling because the majority of its story is comprised of action and this does not change after the first 64 chapters. If anything the action only intensifies, so it is safe to estimate the same number of chapters being adapted again.
The next important thing to consider is where a good stopping point is. The anime adapted the first 64 chapters because chapter 64 was the end of the Death Painting arc, which consisted of nine chapters. The following arc is about Gojo’s past with Geto Suguru as they are Jujutsu high students and covers a lot of events regarding Megumi and his father.
