Warning! SPOILERS for Stranger Things season 4, volume 2.
Stranger Things season 4 star Joseph Quinn says he would support a “Justice For Eddie” fan campaign, similar to those received by other characters. Season 1 of Matt and Ross Duffer’s hit Netflix series introduced audiences to Barbara 'Barb' Holland, Nancy Wheeler's caring best friend who was abducted by the Demogorgon. Thus began Stranger Things' unwritten rule of introducing beloved supporting characters and then killing them off in the same season. Stranger Things season 2 saw Bob Newby torn apart by Demodogs and, in season 3, Alexei was shot by Grigori and left to die. In volume 2 of season 4, lovable metal head Eddie «The Freak» Munson (Quinn) becomes Stranger Things’ latest causality.
In the season 4 finale, «Chapter Nine: The Piggyback,» Steve, Nancy, and Robin head to the Upside Down’s Creel House to kill Vecna/Henry/One’s body while the spellcaster goes after Max. Eddie draws the dimension’s bat-like creatures away from the house by playing Metallica's «Master of Puppets» atop his trailer. When he and Dustin are overwhelmed, and Dustin escapes back to Hawkins, Eddie decides to buy his friends more time and draw the creatures out even further. Ultimately, this results in Eddie dying in Dustin’s arms; although he never got to graduate, it was indeed his year. Now, Quinn has revealed whether he’d support a campaign ala “Justice for Barb,” which was created by fans outraged that no one in Hawkins seemed to care about the character’s disappearance.
