And for those who are gluttons for punishment, you can tackle one of the higher difficulties. We break down the differences here.
Each increment in difficulty level provides tougher enemies for Jack and friends to defeat but also increases the rewards you receive and offers better equipment drops.

For players who want to focus on the storyline without worrying about breaking a sweat, you can opt to enable Casual Mode. This is only applicable for players who select Story difficulty and has enemy strength and rewards to match, but also offers the following benefits:
Casual Mode cannot be activated during Online play.
If you're looking for a more brutal challenge, you can unlock Chaos Difficulty by completing Stranger of Paradise on any difficulty. Once unlocked, you can select this difficulty from the menu on your save file where you have already completed the game, but you cannot select it for a brand new playthrough.
