Stephen Amell has revealed a hidden comic book Easter egg contained in the very first episode of Arrow season 1. The series, which was adapted from the DC Comics, was created for The CW in 2012 by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. It followed Stephen Amell as the Green Arrow and ran for eight seasons, spawning what would come to be known as the «Arrowverse,» a string of interconnected superhero series that now includes The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
Before all of that success, however, there was a pilot episode that had to introduce Amell's version of the character. The episode, simply titled «Pilot,» premiered on October 10, 2012. It followed Oliver Queen being rescued from a desert island after being stranded for five years. When he and his brother are kidnapped once he returns to Starling City, he reveals he is now a combat expert, which is perhaps an answer to the mystery of why his body is now deeply scarred. In addition to stirring the pot of an explosive family drama, the first episode of Arrow also begins an arc that will change Oliver Queen's life forever as he becomes Green Arrow.

While reflecting on the series with Den of Geek, Amell shared a hidden Easter egg from the very first episode of Arrow. The character of Green Arrow made his comic book debut in November 1941, so the writers couldn't resist sneaking in a reference to that fact. Amell shared that "when I threaten Adam Hunt and I tell him to transfer something to Starling City Bank…it was bank account 1141," representing the date 11/41. Read the full quote below:
