Have you tried purchasing an app, or an app's subscription via the saved debit/credit card details on your iPhone? Have they failed? If the answer is yes, then worry not. Apple has implemented the new Indian government regulations wherein your iPhone can not store your card details. Hence, buying an app or getting an app subscription on your iPhone has to be done in a different way.
Instead of relying on your debit/credit card, you can now make the payments via Apple ID payment. Your Apple ID can now store credit on your account and will let you spend it on app purchases or subscriptions. The amount will need to be added manually on to your Apple ID account, which is possible via UPI, Netbanking, and App Store codes.
“Regulatory requirements in India apply to the processing of recurring transactions. If you hold an Indian debit or credit card and you have a subscription, these changes impact your transactions. Some transactions might be declined by banks and card issuers,” says Apple
“To continue enjoying your subscriptions, you can pay with your Apple ID balance. You can add to your Apple ID balance using App Store Codes, Net Banking, and UPI,” adds Apple.
You can try making a payment using the Apple ID balance way. Here is how you can do it.
