Saints Row 4 took the wackiness of the franchise and dialed it up to 11, and the new Saints Row game seems determined to do the same thing all over again. At least as far as customization goes, Saints Row has clearly doubled down on how insane, but also in-depth its content can be. It recently showcased some of its customization options, with everything from a car’s tire profile to a person’s skin being deeply customizable.
Players can look like aliens, gangsters, professional mobsters, a member of the Blue Man Group, or something straight out of a horror movie. Customization and the general tone of the Saints Row game, as far as this is concerned, is in the hands of the player with just how out-there they want it to be. That doesn’t mean, however, there are plenty of jokes and gags packed in as-is.

When it comes to vehicles inSaints Row, there are plenty of options such as boats, hoverboards, VTALs, food trucks, and so on. Every detail is customizable, with abilities like ejector seats and kneecappers being possible too. In all of this, one base item stands out, and that’s the giant pirate ship players can drive through Santo Ileso.
A pirate ship on wheels is rare, but it has been done before. What makes this particular option hilariously fit the tone of the world is that it’s a clear SpongeBob SquarePants Easter egg. It is simply named the “Frying Dutchman.” As fans know, SpongeBob is a fry cook and his work centers around that, while the Flying Dutchman is a major character in the series. Connecting “frying” with the Flying Dutchman’s ship isn’t that much of a stretch, and it’s just hilarious that it doubles as a food truck.
