Indie game Figment is free to claim on Steam for a limited time. Figment is an action adventure game developed by Bedtime Digital Games that originally released in 2017. It earned mostly positive reviews from professional critics at the time of its original release, but it has been warmly received by Steam users as well, earning a «Very Positive» Rating with over 800 reviews at the time of this writing.
Figment reviews praised the game's unique art style and sense of humor, so it should make for a solid freebie for anyone's Steam library. Steam doesn't give away free games on a regular basis like competitor Epic Games Store, so it's always a treat whenever Steam users are able to snag a free game for their collection.

Figment will remain free on Steam for exactly one week, so those interested have until March 9 to grab it. As for why Figment is being given away for free, it's a promotional tactic to generate more interest in the upcoming launch of the sequel, Figment 2: Creed Valley, which is currently scheduled to launch on March 9. The first Figment is free on Steam right now.
Figment 2: Creed Valley has a free prologue that fans can try as soon as they're done playing through the original Figment game. Figment 2: Creed Valley looks like it should be enjoyable for anyone that liked the original game, as it once again features protagonist Dusty and offers similar gameplay mechanics.
