DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn talked about Wonder Woman a bit over the weekend, stating that he’s trying to get more animated projects starring the iconic hero made.
Gunn first responded to a Twitter user stating that Wonder Woman has lots of potential for future stories in an animated series. The filmmaker agreed, and said, “Working on it.”

When another user stated that they thought Gunn was simply referring to further Wonder Woman mythos-based stories like the upcoming show, Gunn clarified that he did mean that he’s working on getting more Wonder Woman animated projects made and that it was one of the first things he brought up to the people working on DC animated projects when he joined DC.
No we’re working on getting Wonder Woman into more animation. I agree that there hasn’t been enough of her in that area and was one of the first things I brought up to the animation folks.
The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include a Batman and Robin-focused movie called , a Supergirl movie titled , a film, and multiple TV shows.
