Steam Deck to support Easy Anti-Cheat

Valve's upcoming Steam Deck hardware will support Easy Anti-Cheat.

In a blog post, the firm revealed that Epic's anti-cheat solution will work on its console and won't require any extra work from developers. This software is used by titles including Apex Legends, Rainbow Six: Siege and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

"Our team has been working with Epic on Easy Anti-Cheat + Proton support over the last few months, and we're happy to announce that adding Steam Deck support to your existing EAC games is now a simple process, and doesn't require updating game binaries, SDK versions, or integration of EOS," Valve wrote.

"Alongside our BattlEye updates from last year, this means that the two largest anti-cheat services are now easily supported on Proton and Steam Deck."

Valve has also said that as of today (Monday, January 24th), it will begin submitting Deck Verified test data for games that use Easy Anti-Cheat or BattlEye.

The firm recently also said that its hardware is on track to launch in February.
