Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that Starfield‘s dialogue scenes will take place in first-person and that the main character will have a voice.
A voice-acted main character was first introduced to the Bethesda formula in Fallout 4, however, all dialogue scenes took place in the third-person perspective, something fans complained about and modded out of the game.
The company tweeted: “Yes, dialogue in @StarfieldGame is first person and your character does not have a voice.” in response to some fan concern over this following the game’s extended showing during the Xbox & Bethesda Game Showcase.

During the showcase, Bethesda’s Todd Howard introduced the 15-minute gameplay reveal below, which features a section early in the title after players arrive on the mysterious moon of Kreet.

Bethesda said there will be 1,000 planets to visit in the game. It also provided a look at character customisation options and revealed that players can build their own spaceships and outposts.
Last month Bethesda delayed the Starfield and Redfall release dates from this year to 2023.
“We’ve made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023,” it said.
“The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them.
