Ever since Starfield's gameplay reveal during the Xbox Showcase last week, Bethesda has steadily revealed more and more information about the game. Well, Todd Howard himself is getting in on the act now, as he has revealed more details about Starfield's main quest, claiming that it will be around 20 percent bigger than the main quests in Skyrim and Fallout 4.
"We usually aim for around that length, if you look at our previous games, but this one's ending up a little bit longer," explains Howard in an interview with IGN. "We may tune that some still with more quests, so it might be 20 percent more than our previous ones. Your mileage may very because people don't generally straight line it, but with our previous ones if you aimed for, let's say, a 25 hour main quest, this one might be in the 30s maybe 40 just for the main quest."

While it's nice to know how long Starfield will last if you gun straight for the main quest, Bethesda fans will know that the majority of time with games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 is spent on side content. It seems like Starfield will be no different, as Howard confirms there are plenty of other side activities and faction quests to undertake, and players will be able to spend a considerable amount of time customizing your ship.
Couple this pretty lengthy main quest and healthy amount of side content with the reveal that Starfield will contain 1000s of planets to explore, then it sounds like the game will be pretty life-swallowing just like every other Bethesda RPG.
