Bethesda Game Studios has been promising new content and features for Starfield for a while now, and though updates for the space-faring RPG haven’t been as significant as many would have hoped, more new details have emerged on when to expect some of that. Shattered Space, for instance – which will be Starfield’s first paid expansion – has been given a narrower launch window.
Speaking in a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Starfield director Todd Howard revealed that Shattered Space, which was previously confirmed to be releasing sometime this year, will launch sometime in the fall.
Before that, however, Starfield’s next big update will also be adding some new features, including the addition of city maps, a feature that the community has been hoping to see since the game came out last year.
Howard went on to add that Starfield’s next update will also include “some great stuff for ship building”. As per Howard, the update is going to be announced sometime this week, following which it will release in Steam Beta (which means it should be going live for all players another couple of weeks or so after that).
Of course, city maps and more ship building options were things that Bethesda had previously confirmed would be coming to the game. The developer has also said in the past that it’s looking to add “new ways of traveling” into the sci-fi RPG. Full modding tools are also set to release sometime this year.
Starfield is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
