Starfield recently just had a big deep dive. If you didn’t catch it, yesterday we had the Xbox Games Showcase, which featured plenty of exciting video game announcements, updates, and trailers. But right after the Xbox Games Showcase wrapped up, we had another highlight of Bethesda’s next big RPG. This highlight gave not only new gameplay footage but a breakdown of what the gameplay experience will be like.
However, while this game is under Microsoft’s control now, it doesn’t mean we’ll see this title launch exclusively on the Xbox Series X/S platforms. Instead, you can expect this title to launch on the PC. However, you’ll want to ensure that your PC can handle the game; fortunately, we have the official PC system requirements to share. Thanks to the official Starfield Steam page, we have the system requirements listed out. One component that most games have suggested is an SSD. However, for Starfield, it’s noted that an SSD is required.
That’s not too surprising, as this game looks to provide quite a bit of content. Furthermore, SSDs are mainly a standard now for PC gaming. With an SSD, computers can experience faster boot times and improved responsiveness. Additionally, they are typically more durable than a standard HDD. So if you haven’t already upgraded your PC and switched to an SSD, this game might finally sway you to make that adjustment. Of course, you’ll want to also make sure your PC can handle the other system-required components, which we’ll list below as presented on the Steam page.
