The GSD’s physical and digital sales data for the United Kingdom is now available for September. Bethesda’s Starfield is the second best-selling game of the month, pacing “narrowly” behind launch sales for Forza Horizon 5 (the current fastest-selling first-party Xbox game this generation).
Given that it was also available on Game Pass at launch, these are some impressive stats. Interestingly, two-thirds of the sci-fi RPG’s unit sales were on PC instead of Xbox Series X/S. It may be attributed to the popularity of the brand on the platform or features like mod support (though full modding tools are coming in 2024, per director Todd Howard).

Regarding physical sales in the United States, it was the best-selling title for September per Circana and the seventh best-selling game in the region year-to-date. Bethesda hasn’t announced sales numbers but confirmed over ten million players within two weeks of launch.
