Blizzard’sStarCraft RTS titles are coming to PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate on November 5 with StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft II: Campaign Collection. The announcement was made by Microsoft during the 2024 Tokyo Game Show broadcast and by Blizzard’s Amelia Savery on the official Xbox Wire blog.
The blog also provides a look back at the history of Blizzard’s venerable sci fi RTS series with fun bits of trivia such as NASA astronaut Daniel Barry, who brought a copy of StarCraft with him up on the STS-96 Discovery in 1999.
StarCraft: Remastered was originally released in 2017 and includes a remastered version of StarCraft and its expansion Brood War, both originally released in 1998. The game content has been remastered in ultra HD resolution, and includes re recorded audio, and more. The project was developed at Blizzard with the assistance of former professional StarCraft players who playtested the title.
StarCraft II: Campaign Collection collects the full StarCraft II trilogy, including StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, and StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. Over 70 missions span across the three titles’ single player campaigns. The collection also features the Nova Covert Ops expansion pack.
