launches for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC on August 30, though Ubisoft+ Premium subscribers and Gold and Ultimate edition owners can start their adventure on August 27. The publisher has confirmed that the new game will feature at the Ubisoft Forward event in June. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment also detailed Outlaws’ accessibility features.
The next Ubisoft Forward premieres at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT on June 10. Fans can watch it live on the publisher’s website or YouTube and Twitch channels. The show will feature an exclusive look at Star Wars Outlaws, Assassins Creed Shadows, and multiplayer shooter XDefiant.
Meanwhile, some of the game’s developers explained Star Wars Outlaws’ accessibility features in a recent interview. “We worked to ensure that aspects of our gameplay, audio, visuals, and interface were as accessible as possible by default,” said Presentation Director Damien Belleville from Ubisoft Annecy, “but being a game with several overlapping gameplay styles and features, it was not always possible to come up with a one-size-fits-all solution.”
For that reason, Star Wars Outlaws gives players options for finding their preferred balance between accessibility and immersion. Players can choose whether the game shows markers on the map or compass and adjust the required precision for specific actions.
Star Wars Outlaws also features configurable high-contrast modes for the visually impaired, customizable subtitles, and Audio descriptions for cinematics. The developers also worked hard to accommodate colorblind users in the world design and heads-up display. Other accessibility features include optional auto-walk, an aim assist toggle, and motion aiming and adaptive trigger intensity on PS5 Dualsense controllers.
