A Pokemon and Spy x Family fan has created a piece of fanart with series protagonist Anya becoming a Pokemon trainer. The Pokemon fan art showcases a full team for the psychic child, who looks quite pleased with herself in the art.
While Pokemon has been popular for a very long time, Spy x Family exploded onto the scene in recent years. The anime follows the adventures and exploits of the Forger family, who all have secret identities and lives outside of their unique family unit. While Pokemon and the world Anya lives in are quite separate in identity and dangers, the idea of her having her own Pokemon team is nonetheless fun to think about.
Pokemon fan mishianh shared their art with fellow fans, showcasing Anya standing among her Pokemon team. Anya's team includes Jigglypuff, Ninetales, Gyarados, Snorlax, Empoleon, and Espurr, who she's cradling in her arms. Interestingly, Espurr is the only Psychic-type Pokemon among them, despite Anya's telepathic abilities. Some might think she would be a shoo-in to have a full Psychic team, but her group here is a bit more balanced with more variety.
The artist explained some of the thought process behind choosing Pokemon for Anya. Ninetales is part of her team to take the place of Bond, giving her a big soft Pokemon to cuddle with and be protected by. Empoleon takes inspiration from the penguin plushie seen in Anya's room, while Espurr was chosen not only for its typing, but because its Meowstic evolution is «very stealthy and spy-like.» Lastly, Gyarados was chosen with the comical notion of Anya catching a humble Magikarp, only for it to evolve in a moment of desperation to protect Anya, much like how her mother Yor Forger becomes downright terrifying when her daughter's wellbeing comes into the picture.
Unfortunately, there are no official collaborations between Spy x Family and Pokemon, but there are still exciting projects on the horizon for both franchises.
Spy x Family will soon see the release of the upcoming SPYxANYA:
