Splitgate is a very fun and well-designed FPS shooter that mixes the best of old genre legends from the day such as Call of Duty and Halo. Unlike many popular FPS games, Splitgate doesn't try to appeal to the masses and keeps a barebones content system in place that is refined, fun, and has replay value.

This isn't to say that Splitgate doesn't have enough content. Not at all, there are many modes that players can try out and a reasonable handful of weapons that gives players a clearer path to mastery. Lockdown is one mode that players can enjoy, which itself is basically a mixture of Hardpoint and Domination from Call of Duty. Just like with tips to win Hotzone, players should heed these Lockdown tips and tricks to improve their chances of winning matches.
Players who fall into the «lone wolf» category will no doubt want to do their own thing, killing opponents in order to help the team but largely having a solo experience, going their own routes and seeking the enemy out without backup. However, it is a classic Splitgate mistake to try and solo multiple people at once without having flanked them as the attacking options open via portals make it too risky.
This can be very effective, even against coordinated opponents, as the unpredictable nature of a player attempting to solo them can take them by surprise or distract them long enough for the lone wolf's team to come in and save the day. For this playstyle, players will have to have quick reflexes, good map awareness, and a decent weapon to stand a chance.
