The Spider-Heroes across the Spider-Verse are constantly thrown in dangerous situations and in a battled damaged body paint cosplay, Spider-Gwen gets her own Sam Raimi Spider-Man-inspired battle-damaged look. In a cosplay made entirely of paint/makeup, cosplayer Melissa Croft shows the after-effects of Spider-Gwen taking some serious damage after a tough fight, as her mask and costume are tattered — all of which are the creation of the talented artist.
Spider-Gwen is the Earth-65 variant of the Gwen Stacy, who first appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 by Jason Latour, Robbi Rodriguez, and Rico Renzi. In that universe, Gwen, not Peter Parker, was bitten by the radioactive spider that gave her incredible powers. Meanwhile, her boyfriend Peter became the Lizard to get revenge on classmates who bullied him over the years. Tragically, Parker would die in a fight following an attack, serving as inspiration for the hero — reversing (albeit in a much more twisted manner) Earth-616 Gwen Stacy's own tragic demise. Spider-Gwen has since joined the main Marvel Universe and become one of the most popular characters to emerge from the Spider-Verse.

On her Instagram account, artist and cosplayer Melissa Croft showed off her take on a battle-damaged Spider-Gwen. The body paint cosplay features the hero in a shredded costume with rips all over. The Spider-Gwen costume looks like it was attacked by the Lizard, as there appear to be claw marks across the chest. Meanwhile, Spider-Gwen's mask takes a page from the battle-damaged Spider-Man suit from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films, as her eyes are visible through the ripped mask, as is her face from the nose down.
