New No Way Home Promo Has Fans Speculating About The Amazing Spider-Man 3
A video promoting the digital release of Spider-Man: No Way Home that heavily features Andrew Garfield has people speculating the strategic marketing choice could hint at a third entry in Garfield's franchise. The Amazing Spider-Man starred Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as his love interest, Gwen Stacy. Directed by James Vanderbilt, the middle child of Sony's Spider-Man franchises received only two features. Its follow-up sequel, this time directed by Marc Webb, saw the end of Garfield's journey with the character — at least for a while.
Thanks to questionable script choices and odd character direction, audiences were not quiet about their dislike of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, giving the studio a good reason to forgo the third film. After severing ties with Garfield and trashing the planned third film, audiences thought they had seen the last from this version of Peter Parker. It wasn't until the MCU reintroduced Garfield alongside Tom Holland and Tobey McGuire in Spider-Man: No Way Home that fans rediscovered their love for this version of Peter and began discussing the film that never was.

Using the renewed love for Garfield in their favor, the official Spider-Man Twitter page released a «Peter #3» highlight reel to announce the film's digital release dates. Not only does the teaser weave together clips from the recent film with old clips from Garfield's franchise, but it also features a title card reminiscent of Garfield's movies' posters.
