Sackboy is once again available on the go, and we're not talking about any sort of port for the PSP's LittleBigPlanet. The latest mobile phone title from Sony, Ultimate Sackboy, adapts the cuddly character for a runner experience, and it's now available worldwide on iOS and Android devices. The trailer above reveals what to expect.
You will run, jump, and platform to the end of levels, competing in head-to-head challenges to win prizes that you can kit your Sackboy out in. There's a Season 1 Pass up for sale, which will be replaced by a second season of content on 22nd March 2023. The first track of content includes the Astronaut costume. Initial impressions of the game seem to be mostly positive, but some reviews on the Google Play store highlight a few dodgy monetary tactics.

Would play this if it had trophies
Add trophies to get on the go and I might consider it. I haven’t seen a mobile phone game yet that has a compelling enough narrative campaign.
While I’m impressed with how good it looks for a mobile game I’d expect more than an a runner from a company like Sony that makes video games for a living. If mobile can handle those graphics it could probably handle something like LBP, left to right platforming. I suppose I’d accept this if it were Crash Bandicoot, those games kind of play like this. Sackboy deserves better. Sony should produce better.
