You can pick up a refurbished console for £389.99, making this the cheapest way to get your hands on a PS5 directly from Sony. Original Article (Wed 11th Sep, 2024 10:15 BST): Sony will soon begin selling refurbished PS5 consoles and controllers on its official PlayStation Direct website, allowing customers to make a saving of around £90 / $100 over a brand new model. Listings on the page are tagged as «coming soon», with a refurbished PS5 console with a disc drive set to be sold at £389 / $400.
If you opt for a refurbished system, you'll get «a product that works like new with genuine PlayStation replacement parts (as needed) that has been thoroughly cleaned, inspected and tested». You will receive all the cables and paperwork you need for a PS5, and it comes with a 12-month manufacturer's warranty. While there's no guarantee the PS5 you receive will be in tip-top condition — the site says «Certified Refurbished products may have minor cosmetic imperfections» — it will have been cleaned and tested to make sure it works before it's shipped out to you.
