The year is 2006. PlayStation's first handheld console, the PSP, is a few months old and you want to know what it feels like to play before you buy one. Lucky for you, the PlayStation Experience trailer is in town, and you can pop by to try out the PSP and play the latest games on it and the PS2. Fast forward 18 years and not only is the PlayStation Experience back, but it can be in any town you want it to be, whenever you want, as someone is selling it for $70,000.
Spotted by Reddit user ArguingMaster, and reported by IGN, someone called Arthur Vandelay has listed the PlayStation Experience trailer on Facebook Marketplace. While there isn't a treasure trove of PS2s and PSPs locked away inside, the trailer still has all of the PlayStation branding printed on its exterior that it had for its final tour more than a decade and a half ago. That includes images of the PSP with ATV Offroad Fury 4 on their screens. When's that classic getting a remaster?
The seller notes in the description that the trailer has been in storage for years so isn't in the best shape. The tires have rotted so will need to be replaced if you want to return the PlayStation Experience to its former glory and take it back out on the road. Everything else is in good working order though, including the hydraulics, hinged panels to open up the truck, and there's even a wheelchair lift. If you think it's worth $70,000, and you have that kind of money to spend, the trailer is still available.
The days of PlayStation and other studios touring the country to advertise their games have mostly been left in the past. Now if you want to try a game before you buy it, you can just play a demo rather than hope the PlayStation Experience is coming to a town near you so you can play it there.
