Even though The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim came out more than a decade ago, millions of fans are still keen to jump into the boots of the Dragonborn. Considered one of the most celebrated open-world games of all time, Bethesda's 2011 release is still going strong. Much of this longevity can be attributed to the modding community, which is tirelessly putting out new content, increasing the already pretty immense world, or possibly offering up a small dose of reality.
That's what user Nakano15 seems to have done, at least. As reported by Gfinity, a new mod has come out which increases the in-game prices of Skyrim, making it much more difficult to afford items and services. While the description on Nexus Mods doesn't specify how much things have gone up by, it does mention that items available in stores, spending a night in a local inn, and hiring a carriage now cost a lot more. It's hard to say whether the modder intended this as a parody of the real world cost of living increase, or it's simply to make things a bit more difficult.

In the base game, there are a few very expensive items players can purchase in Skyrim. Much of which involves Daedric artifacts, such as armor, with some accouterments setting the Dragonborn back tens of thousands of Septims. However, many players enjoy the thrill of being a more stealthy character, whereby they can make some quick cash by just stealing from others, or stealing items and selling them at the Thieves Guild. But it seems as though Nakano15's «Pricy Skyrim» add-on intends to make it so that even the most professional burglar is going to have to work hard to afford a life in Tamriel.
