It would seem that, anywhere someone looks, there is a Marvel game out, in development, or rumored to be in development. Insomniac is working on Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine, Skydance is working on a new Marvel ensemble game, EA is rumored to be working on a Black Panther game, Firaxis is working on Marvel's Midnight Suns, and there are plenty of games released on top of that. This makes the recent rumor that Ubisoft was working on aBlade game easy to digest, but it seems it may not be true.
The rumor didn't come the way of some random internet user, though. Actors E Gaffney and Alex Martin recently shared images of a Ubisoft motion capture session on Instagram, where it is obviously the company due to the Ubi logo on the suits, and then another image with a clapperboard listing Marvel as the production. While this would indicate Ubisoft was working on a Marvel game, the theory that it is a new Blade game is because the said clapperboard mentions «B. Tariq» as director. As many fans may know, Tariq is working on the newBlade MCU movie, which is currently set to release in November 2023.

While this rumor is exciting and seems to come from a reliable source, the Ubisoft Blade game rumors have been officially denied by the company. The company specifically said it was «sorry to slice up the rumors,» but it wasn't making a Blade game. The company did also express interest in the upcoming film, but if nothing else, this tweet makes the whole situation more of a headscratcher.
