Alongside the new Skate trailer, Electronic Arts also released a new dev diary on their blog, breaking down some of what fans can expect in Skate. In the upcoming game, gameplay has been completely redesigned, with “Flick-It,” the control system in Skate, undergoing a massive overhaul.
According to EA, the goal with Skate’s gameplay is to make players feel like every trick feels “fun and satisfying,” while also feeling just as familiar as it has in past games. Character customization will also be a big factor, with different body types, hair, clothes, board style, and more able to be changed.
EA also touched briefly on the world of San Vansterdam, hinting that the city will continue to undergo updates throughout the game’s history. Players will also be able to find rewards in “almost everything” they do in the game, which will help unlock more for character tweaks, as well as new places to skate in the city.
