's DLC is full of choices that V must make — and these decisions can ultimately affect which ending players get. In fact, some options can even lock players out of s true new ending, and one of these factors includes deciding to kill Solomon Reed or agreeing to his deal. This occurs extremely late in the game, but it will have a major impact on the ending, so knowing which choice is correct is important.

During the quest «The Killing Moon,» V is faced with deciding whether to agree to Solomon Reed's deal or to kill him. This will follow the «Firestarter» mission and will depend on whether players choose to side with Songbird or Reed. It appears that the only way to activate «The Killing Moon» mission in is to side with Songbird, since turning her in earlier will lead to different options. If players sided with Songbird, then they'll soon be on their way to the NUSA transport ship before learning that she's been lying to them the entire time about the neural matrix. At this point, V can call Reed and tell him what's going on or simply wait a bit longer for events to play out.

Once V and Songbird are on the train and headed for the NUSA transport ship, V will have the option to «Pick Up Songbird» or «Call Reed.» If V doesn't call Solomon Reed, then they can walk up to the ship with Songbird once the train stops during this mission. V will just carry Songbird up to the transport ship and face Reed there. Calling Reed in (or not) doesn't affect any of the endings, because he should appear here regardless.
