A new Young Sheldon season 5 teaser trailer reveals Sheldon (Iain Armitage) going up against guest star, Ming-Na Wen. The Marvel and Star Wars actress, who recently starred on The Book of Boba Fett as Fennec Shand, joinsThe Big Bang Theory franchise as Dr. Carol Lee — East Texas Tech's director of experimental cosmology. And somehow, the socially-inept genius finds himself butting heads with her.
Young Sheldon season 5 premiered later than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic, and despite that, fans seem to enjoy where the show's story is heading. Instead of focusing solely on its titular character, CBS has had more balanced storytelling this year, giving each member of Sheldon's family their own respective arcs, particularly George's (Lance Barber) budding affair with Brenda (Melissa Peterman). As the sitcom enters its final stretch for season 5, the spotlight is gradually shifting back to its titular character as he gets into new experiences as a college student.

Following a two-week hiatus to give way to the Winter Olympics hosted by Beijing, China, Young Sheldon season 5 is finally returning with a brand-new episode.
