Mattel and developer Milestone Team have revealed the winner of Hot Wheels Unleashed's Design Battle contest; notably, the lucky designer will have their prize-winning creation transformed into a real toy. The Design Battle contest for Hot Wheels Unleashed ran from January 14 through February 14, allowing contestants to submit custom Hot Wheels Rodger Dodger designs crafted in the racing game's Livery Editor. Participants were told the winning creation would be immortalized as an actual die-cast toy.

A panel of four judges from Mattel's design team has officially chosen the winner of the Hot Wheels Unleashed design contest. After combing through more than 10,000 entries, the panel selected the Digigold design by Reds, with Mattel's VP and Global Head of Vehicle Design, Ted Wu, describing Reds' in-game Livery creation as "truly unique." The white, black, and gold Digigold scheme is now available to enjoy on the Hot Wheels Unleashed roster of cars. Better yet, a physical die-cast version of Reds' Digigold build will hit store shelves around the world in December of this year. Take a look at the winning design in the following trailer:
That this sleek design will appear both in-game and in the real world as a toy is nothing short of incredible. And Hot Wheels Unleashed players have a lot more content to look forward to in the months ahead. Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3 will launch on an unspecified date in June, for instance, adding extras that include an expansion, nine vehicles, three track builder modules, and three themed customization packs.
