The love for the animated series Young Justice seems never-ending as DC Comics has just announced that a 6-issue mini-series titled Young Justice: Targets will be released, taking place after the ending of the 4th season. With season 5 of the hit animated series still in question, news that an in-continuity comic is being published has excited fans who are hopeful that their favorite characters' stories will continue on.
Young Justice first premiered in 2010 as a fan-favorite DC animated series but was unceremoniously canceled in the later half of 2013 to the disappointment of fans. However, thanks to a rabid fan base and the continued popularity of the first two seasons, the third season, Young Justice: Outsiders, premiered in 2019 with the 4th season Young Justice: Phantoms premiering in 2021 and 2022. The Young Justice characters, who live on Earth-16, are all complex richly developed heroes, with the writing and animation of the series continuing to impress both fans and critics.
