Sega has now shared that this experimental new entry also has the length to match its lofty ambitions.
The time fans spend with the most recent Sonic titles hasn't really been anything to write home about for the last few years. Fan-favorite games such as Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors could easily be beaten in a day if fans were dedicated enough. Sonic 06 currently sits as the longest game for the blue blur to date, despite its bad reputation, but Sonic Frontiers aims to change that.

While talking to IGN,Sonic Frontiers' director Morio Kishimoto made it a point to mention just how long the game will take players. Sonic's latest adventure will take around 20-30 hours to finish for regular players while that length will be double that for those that want to complete it and see everything it has to offer.
With Frontiers touting that many hours behind it, this means that the next Sonic game will end up being one of the longest in the series. Fan-favorite Sonic Unleashed ranged around 13 hours with plenty of padding, while Sonic 06 sat at 16 hours. With the non-linear structure of Frontiers as well, this means many of the game's players will experience that playtime far differently as they explore the way they desire to.
