While Disney Plus has still not officially said when Secret Invasion is hitting the streaming platform, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige is finally sharing some important details about the show. In particular, Feige has divulged when the six-episode series takes place.
There has actually already been a few hints about when Secret Invasion might be set thanks to set photos, but Feige is now willing to totally let the cat out of the bag. More specifically, fans have long been wondering just when the invasion is set in the MCU timeline. There are three distinct periods of time in the MCU, and all of the movies fall into the category of «pre-snap,» «post-snap,» or right in the middle when the world is still trying to deal with the fallout of the «Blip» and before the Avengers were able to set the world straight.

He explained this is a period of time when half the universe is in upheaval andSecret Invasion will explore what was going on more than any of the other Marvel Studios shows and movies have done. It turns out that Feige's explanation as to when the show is set hints at a few of the character details as well. One big plot point that might have been spoiled with the announcement is what Nick Fury and Maria Hill are going to be doing in the show. Both characters were blipped out by the snap and if they're appearing in Secret Invasion, it would seem as though they are actually Skrull replacements rather than the real S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
