Idina Menzel shares an update on a potential Frozen 3 movie. Menzel voiced Elsa, one of the series’ two leading ladies, in Frozenand Frozen II. Kristen Bell (The Good Place, Veronica Mars) voices Anna opposite Menzel in the franchise. The series also features vocal performances from Josh Gad, Alan Tudyk, Jonathan Groff, and Santino Fontana.
Almost three years have passed since Frozen II was released in theaters, but the hiatus is not a death knell for the Frozen franchise. Since Frozen’s release in 2013, Anna and Elsa have been subject not only to hysteric worship by millions of little kids across the globe, but also more Frozen-related material. In 2015, Disney released an eight-minute short called Frozen Feverin between the releases of Frozen and Frozen II. Frozen was also adapted into a popular Broadway show and, just this March, Disney released a music video for an unreleased Anna and Elsa duet that didn’t make it into Frozen II. Still, updates on Frozen 3 have been few and far between as Disney continues to release other animated projects.

Now, Menzel alludes to a potential future for the Frozen franchise. According to People, Menzel hopes for a new Frozen film to be released. She notes that she would readily seize the opportunity to “play a blonde animated girl who is, like, 15.” Check out the full quote from Menzel below:
