A new Secret Invasion set photo reveals a Hawkeye Easter egg in the background in the form of a Rogers: The Musical advertisement. The upcoming Disney+ series is based on Brian Michael Bendis' eight-issue storyline revolving around the reveal that multiple superheroes around the world have been replaced by the alien shapeshifters known as the Skrulls. The new Marvel Cinematic Universe show will focus on Nick Fury and Skrull leader Talos as they learn of this covert plot and investigate.
Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn return to lead the cast of Secret Invasion as Fury and Talos alongside Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill and MCU newcomers Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald and Carmen Ejogo. Development on the series was first announced in late 2020 when Emmy nominated Mr. Robot alum Kyle Bradstreet was attached as developer and showrunner for the project before the confirmation of Jackson and Mendelsohn's returns at the Disney Investor Day later that year. Filming kicked off on Secret Invasion in September 2021 and as it nears its end, exciting new reveals are coming from the est.
