Sabotage Studio’s Sea of Stars has received some new gameplay courtesy of Game Informer. It showcases two locations, the first inside a mountain where Malkomud and a giant salamander named Rockie reside. The other is in the Cursed Woods with appropriately creepy foes. Check it out below.
The combat is the main focus of this extensive footage. Like Super Mario RPG, players can time their blocks to minimize damage received. This extends to attacks, like deflecting a boomerang to hit a foe multiple times or holding a button down to charge an attack. Other mechanics include gathering energy orbs to boost attacks or execute combos and using certain spells and attacks to stop an enemy from using their best techniques.
Sea of Stars is out on August 29th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. A free demo is available for Switch via the eShop. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
